Blimey - Wales is a long way from York!

We went via the M62 then the M55 into North Wales. It was the first time I had been there. My driver had been there years ago to the National Mountain Centre at Plas-Y-Brenin in Snowdonia so we headed for that general area.

The slate quarry at Diworneg, at one time the largest man-made hole on earth. 

Wales this weekend

This weekend I'm off to Wales. I have to start at 5.00 am and get all the way to North Wales to get the family to the Snowdon Mountain Railway bottom station for breakfast between 8 and 9 am.
I'll wait there for them to have some fun on the mountain, then take them to our accommodation for the night.
